The Truth Seeker The O'Malley Series #3 Dee Henderson 0031809110584 Books
The first time I read the O'Malley series I thought they were cute. Additional readings have revealed numerous mistakes. I am surprised that this particular book made it past the editor; someone must have been taking a nap while proofreading. Jennifer is getting married in early October, yet Henderson has Lisa and Quinn talking about purchasing a wedding for Jennifer, but the timeline in the book places this conversation in late October of the same year. Jennifer has terminal cancer so we know that they are not talking about an event that will take place in a year. The situations are unrealistic, the characters don't develop beyond the ever present "O'Malleys stick together." I strongly suspect that some of my 8th grade students could write better than this.Tags : The Truth Seeker (The O'Malley Series #3) [Dee Henderson] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Truth Seeker The O'Malley Series #3 Dee Henderson 0031809110584 Books Reviews
As always with Dee Henderson's book, this was a thriller. She produced profound Biblical truths concerning the resurrection that should enlighten any Christian in presenting the gospel of Jesus to lost sinners. Mystery and romance at its best. I so appreciate reading books that exclude dirty language. Would recommend this book to all my friends.
This was one of my favorite of the O'Malley series. I love the way Dee captured the details to bring Lisa to a point of understanding the truth. Quinn is one amazing, seasoned guy who is perfect for Lisa. Unfortunately she knows he has asked out two of her sisters before her and doesn't want to be another on his list. Quinn is going to have a hard time breaking down her defenses.
I loved this book, as well as the others 2 in the series. Dee Henderson just does such a great job of bringing you into the story and making it believable in the persons struggle to believe in God and you go through their navigations of finding God again because He is always 100% true, but for some it takes a while to see that. It's inspiring and uplifting but also has romance and mystery. A book of many genres into one and I can't get enough of the O'Malley family! I would recommend this series to anybody! )
If you question the Resurrection of Jesus, this is a very good read for you as it answers that question in a very understandable way. Also shows choosing to believe is your Choice.
The author shows great skill in stating TRUTH while still loving to show that the characters are well into our hearts as we continue our page turning to find the HEA.
This series is not your typical HEA but it goes quietly deeper with each book.
TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES!!! Blessings to the author as well as my fellow readers.
Lisa O'malley comes off from the very begining as a very fascinating character. She is smart and funny. She has a very grim job, but she keeps her witts about her, and quite honestly the investigative process is seen more clearly in this book...and I loved that. The mystery seemed deeper than in the previous books and you can see that Dee Henderson is getting better and better. I also adored Quinn, he is a cowoboy, a marshall, and above all else a gentleman who doesn't push himself on people. Both Quinn and Lisa have a past, and both pasts are dark and full of pain. Together they overcome a lot, including their own pride. The only reason however that I am only giving it 4 stars is because as in the other books the ending could have been more. What I mean by that is, it could have been harder to get to saftey, it could have been more dangerous--instead the resolution seemed to be too easy. It came to a clilmax and then fell swiftly and I could see a whole lot more potential for that particular scene. But I do see improvements from the previous books and more mysteries being revealed about the O'Malley's sooooo... I will continue reading!
I've loved all the books in the O'Malley Series so far, but this one really ramps up the action. Though Henderson has a habit of using a name more than once in her stories—in The Negotiator, she named a restaurant Quinn's and she had a character named Quinn. In The Truth Seeker, she had a painting by an artist named Sinclair and a restaurant named Sinclair. She had a missing teen named Amy and a little girl at Jennifer's wedding also named Amy. This can be a bit confusing, but don't let that stop you from reading her work. She's a talented writer and her characters come alive. Henderson knows how to yank the reader into the scene and not let them come up for air until they turn the last page.
Like other reviewers, I have the 7 book series and have read them all more than once.
I enjoyed reading this book except for one thing. I can definitely understand why Lisa had difficulties accepting the fact of being asked out last by Quinn. His "familiarity" with the other sisters (except perhaps for Rachel who declined) made me a little uneasy as I know I would have felt exactly the same way that Lisa did. I don't think this should have been mentioned this as frequently (or as many details of his past relationships with the other sisters revealed ) as it was. Other than that, the book is ok. I like how it ended.
